An intern arrives at the Q-teatteri, whose secret dream is to become an actor. The opportunity of a lifetime opens up for them when the actors of the theater decide not to come to the evening's performance.
An intern embarks on an impossible battle to save the show. In their task, they get help from tired technicians as well as dead masters. Nothing can stop the theater machine!
Donkey Hot is the attempt of director student Juho Mantere and jazz composer student Henri Lyysaari to create a new domestic musical. The task seems absurd - that's why Don Quixote, the architect of madness and Western novel art, was chosen as the base work. The creators of the production, young art students, are riding madly towards graduation. There is only one battle between them and the final diploma – this piece.
Donkey Hot is a story about dreams that turn into nightmares. It's a musical about obsessions and madness.
Above all, it is a declaration of love for the theater, that dark room where people have gathered for centuries to share stories and spend time together.
Donkey Hot is a co-production of Q-teatteri and the University of the Arts Theater Academy.
